ACTS carries a broad and ever-changing selection of gently used items including clothing for men, women, and children, shoes and accessories, furniture (sofas, tables, dressers, and more), household goods and kitchenware, books, toys, and games, home décor, electronics and small appliances. Because inventory comes directly from community donations, new items arrive daily — so each visit is a fresh treasure hunt.
-
ACTS uses a weekly rotating color-tag markdown system to offer deep discounts on select items. Each week, specific tag colors are slashed — for example, 50% off all yellow-tagged items or 75% off all blue-tagged items. Check the current weekly deals at actsthrift.org/events before your visit so you can plan around the biggest savings.
-
Yes. ACTS Thrift regularly carries furniture including sofas, armchairs, dining tables, dressers, entertainment centers, bookshelves, and occasional bedroom pieces — all at a fraction of retail price. Furniture inventory varies by location and changes frequently. Call your nearest store to ask about current availability before making the trip for a specific piece.
-
Absolutely. Because ACTS receives donations from the entire community, shoppers regularly discover well-known brands and designer labels mixed into the racks. The key is consistent visits — inventory turns over daily. Checking labels, fabric content, and condition is the best way to spot high-value finds at thrift store prices.
-
Yes. All donated items are inspected before being placed on the sales floor. As with any clothing purchase, we recommend washing all clothing before wearing. For shoes, a disinfectant spray works well. For kitchenware and household items, a standard wash is sufficient. For delicate items like leather or dry-clean-only garments, check the care label before purchasing to plan for cleaning costs.
-
As is standard at most thrift stores, all sales are generally considered final. We encourage shoppers to inspect items carefully — checking for damage, stains, and completeness — before purchasing. If you have a specific question about a recent purchase, contact your nearest ACTS location directly.
-
ACTS Thrift accepts cash and major credit and debit cards. For specifics at a particular location, call ahead. We recommend bringing a debit or credit card for the most convenient shopping experience.
-
The Giving & Helping Club is ACTS Thrift's free loyalty rewards program designed to reward both shoppers and donors. Members receive exclusive perks, special offers, and insider access to deals. You can join online at actsthrift.myloyaltyhub.com or sign up in-store. There is no cost to join.
-
The best ways to stay current on ACTS deals include checking the weekly deals page at actsthrift.org/events, joining the Giving & Helping Club for member-exclusive promotions, and following ACTS Thrift on social media for flash sales and announcements.

ACTS Thrift stores are organized by category and size to make shopping as straightforward as possible. Clothing sections are grouped by type and size; furniture and household items have dedicated areas. That said, thrift shopping rewards those who take their time. New items arrive daily, so a slower browse often uncovers the best finds. Shop early in the week or early in the morning for first access to newly stocked items.

Shopping and donating secondhand benefits everyone.
For shoppers: Quality items at a fraction of retail cost — often including brand-name and designer pieces. Every purchase directly funds local nonprofit programs.
For donors: A tax-deductible way to declutter responsibly, knowing your items go to families in need rather than a landfill. ACTS also offers free pickup so the process is genuinely effortless.
For the environment: Keeping usable goods in circulation reduces demand for new production and diverts waste from California landfills — a significant local and global impact.
